Hosne Ara Wahid

Hosne Ara Wahid ((ベンガル語:হোসনে আরা ওয়াহিদ); born 28 February 1955) is a former member of the Bangladesh Parliament, having served from 1996 to 2001. In 1996, she was selected as a female member of Parliament for the Moulavibazar-Hobigonj parliamentary area. Before this she worked as the project manager from 1983 to 1996 of Pathfinder, an International NGO which works for family planning and child welfare in Bangladesh, funded by United States Agency for International Development. She visited several countries on behalf of the NGO and of the Bangladesh Government, and addressed the United Nations General Assembly Third Committee (SOCHUM).〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Statements During The 54th Session Of The United Nations General Assembly )
==Early life==
Hosne Ara Wahid was born on 28 February 1955 in Moulavibazar district . She is the first daughter of the late Abdul Mofij and Mrs. Ambia Khatun. She is the eldest of eight children, with five brothers and two sisters. Her father was a Pakistani Civil Serviceman who died during the 1982 flood in Bangladesh. She passed her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) group Science in 1969 from Sylhet Government Girls High School, when her father was in Sylhet for his job. Her Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) was completed at the Sylhet Women's College in 1972 from the Science group. After that her father returned to Moulavibazar where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Science in 1975 from the Moulavibazar Government College.
In 1977, she married Mr. Abdul Wahid, who was the former General Secretary of Moulavibazar District Awami League. They have four children. In 1983, she joined Pathfinder, the family-planning based NGO She worked there for 13 years. In 1996, she was selected as a member of Parliament for five years. In 2001, she completed her parliamentary session and became involved with many social works. She is a lifelong member of Moulavibazar district Red Crescent society, Moulavibazar Press Club, and honorary member of many organizations. She is the member of the District Awami League and thus is involved with its political movements.
